Wow! What a show it was! You are very much aware that you have seen a great, great show when once it’s over you just want to get home and play their songs over and over again. It’s a great show when you remember it a year later as if it was yesterday. Well that is what happened to me when I saw the Eagles of Death Metal at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas. It was one Saturday night in February last year I will long remember (when I was teaching overseas). The crowd was ecstatic.
Jesse “the Devil”Hughes and his crew had just kicked of their 2009 world tour which at the time took them across the world to about forty venues. So it was just a pit stop in Vegas and I was there. The show was what could be typical for the ardent EODM fan and a unique experience for first timers. People were having themselves a lot of fun as the band went through their set. There was screaming, dancing and all to compliment music that was played. I remember hear my favourites like “I Only Want You”and “Now I’m a Fool.”The vocals and music was amazing as they went through the crowds favourite and a few of the not so popular tunes.
When they played “Stuck in the Metal,”and “Already Died”I remember feeling the vibe in the place get really intense. The band’s interaction with the crowd was great and we all loved it.
It was more like a jam session with lots of people. Folks were singing along and sipping whatever drink they could get their hands on to enjoy. I don’t know how these guys go about creating music but the end result is simply genius and their fans can’t wait for much more from them.

Shakespeare had said that if music is the food of love play on. Music can touch your soul in every possible way. Rock bands across the globe have successfully created a niche for themselves. They have recreated magic and history with their classic music and soul touching numbers that stimulate the moods of people in a positive manner. One of the most popular bands that have created history with their scintillating performance by mesmerizing the audiences with their foot tapping numbers and magical music is the Eagles of Death Metal rock band.
This band hails from USA and they are often called a garage band. Since their inception in 1998 they have come a long way and their long lists of fans have made them a household name. The brainchild behind this magical band were Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes. Both of them were alien to the death metal genre of music. It was one of their friends that introduced them to this genre and they decided to name the band Eagles of Death Metal.
The charismatic stage shows, magical concerts and interactive interviews make them a favorite band among many and their fans go gaga over their music that is so very original. The choice of instruments is very unique hence the innovative sounds and music that kind of grows on everybody. This band hails from California and they give exquisite performances in desert, garage and alternative rock. Jesse is popularly known as the devil and Josh is called baby duck. These nicknames have made them popular. Their record sales have been very profitable and the tickets of their concerts are sold within minutes.
Their debut album called Peace, Love, Death Metal did wonders for them. Most of the numbers were a rage and they debut in 2004 was a big hit.
I just found this great company who agreed to give us a deal on the Packaging Solutions for the group! Whats the general opinion of them?! Hit the link and let me know!

With a band name like, Eagles of Death Metal, one can be forgiven in thinking metal of some description would be their forte. What the name is actually intended to represent however is a combination of the Eagles and death metal. That they sound nothing like the Eagles or have any death metal influence is a mystery also.
The misleading EoDM are an American rock band commended for high energy and charismatic live performances and a knack for ’entertainment. However, that shouldn’t fool you into believing they are any good through speakers or have any professional integrity, musical or otherwise. What you will get from EoDM is a show - awe-inspiring light displays, grinding guitars, gyrating hips and frigid pop songs dressed up as a rock whore. Realistically, it’s not far removed from the X-Factor only with instruments. To be fair the lyrics are original, but that a snotty nosed teenager in a hooded top could have written them after telling stories with his mates behind the bike sheds, originality doesn’t count for much.
’Wannabe in L.A’ chimes of Beach Boys melody propped up with contemporary fuzzy synth whilst ’Anything ’cept the Truth’ and just about everything else has overhanging shades of Queens of the Stone Age. Given that one half of this mock-rock duo is Josh Homme, that revelation is hardly a surprise. The other founding member is Jesse Hughes, guitarist in legendary Polish death metal band, Vadar, which again is confusing as there is a distinct lack of metal or indeed heavy guitar that has a resonating riff that could make your ear bleed - or at least stir some mild interest from the bubbling pit of your metal-starved gut.
Not that this review is trying to sell them to you, but EoDM are touring New Zealand and Australia throughout February. If you like live shows and don’t care or know so much about what music the band are playing, it might be worth a sneaky peak.

The Eagles of Death Metal third album Heart On is possibly the best offering so far from this rock band. The album ranks up on the danceablilty meter with some mesmerizing blues and hard rock sound. This album is one that was looked forward to by their masses of followers around the world when it came out in 2008 on October 21.
Differing much from their previous two albums, Heart On features some really jagged percussion leads that can be heard throughout most of the album. Thus giving listeners a wonderful taste of the artistry of Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes.
The album opens with the party type jam “Anything ‘Cept the Truth” which is signals to everyone just what’s to come on the rest o the songs. One of the more catchy tunes that is somewhat a deviation from the normal Eagles of Death Metal sound is the song “High Voltage” which is filled with some real cool funk guitars fused with a bass that is simply soul buzzing.
Another song that really offers up a new turn for the band is “I’m A Fool” which is a love song about heartbreak that you can jam to. The lyrics are heart pulling and basically speaks for itself.
The song “Cheap Thrills” is a jam that has some mean string action with riveting vocals from Hughes and partner in musical crime Homme. The song may not consider the power jam of the album but it surely deserves a lot of listening.
With this album the Eagles of Death Metal have proven that sex rock is alive and well. Reminiscent in a way of Billy Idol this bands groove is more than what meet the eye or ear for that matter. If anyone does not own a copy of this album you should waste no more time and go get one.
How does ski hotels online competition sound to all of you? Everyone should really enter, this would be such a cool way way to spend this winter!

A friend of mine is a huge death metal fan.
All too often no matter whatever else we are talking about our conversation will eventually worm its way back to music when I will then get absolutely slaughtered for the more obvious commercial appeal of my musical tastes with all too many demands to listen to this amazing band called ‘Eagles of Death Metal’ and my response has always been the same -
“I like who I like and you are not going to change my mind.”
Now, of course, I add a few other less than charitable words to make my point but the number of times we have been through this same conversation I have now come to the point where I feel like I am almost literally bashing my head against the wall.
So the other day I was in a certain popular highstreet music store when I came upon Eagles of Death Metal’s ‘Heart On’ and resolved to give it a try (and shut my mate up!).
After completing my shop in the town I returned to the car and put the CD in for the long drive home to help me pass the time and, much as I hated to admit it to my friend, I really did like it for the simple reason that it was unlike anything that I had ever heard before.
Jesse Hughes and Josh Homme are strangely comedic in their performance as they proceed to seemingly ’send-up’ and celebrate alternative rock to such an extent that I soon found myself absent mindedly tapping my hands on the steering wheel along with the beat. The music is also strangely founded in blues with a low-fi fuzziness and oddball percussion that you certainly do not get with the other arties I enjoy like Snow Patrol and U2. In addition I could not help but smile at the lyrics that seemed to revel in odd stories of extremely tight pants and loose loving women that most men will only ever dream about as Hughes and Homme croon “We’re getting freaky in the shadows of the night”.
As a result, whilst I would not class myself as a fan, on the strength of ‘Heart On’ I would certainly call myself an interested listener and will be looking out for the next album.
Also, as long as we are on tangents. I couldn’t get to sleep and decided to go lurking round the world wide web for something to keep me occupied, turns out the Heroes Forum is not only a remarkable way to waste time but also fairly diverting…

Reading Does Illegal Downloading Hurt the Music Industry? is something that any music lover should read.
We have all heard about how they are losing millions of pounds because of downloads; but is it really as bad as they are making out? It wasn’t so long ago that the music industry was under a lot of pressure to reduce the price of CDs. After a very lengthy investigation they begrudgingly lowered the cost but new albums are still far cheaper in many parts of Europe.
Perhaps it is all just a case of ‘you reap what you sow’– Have they brought it on themselves?
