Jesse Hughes
Jesse Hughes is one of the people who formed the band Eagles of Death Metal. His other names are The Devil and Boots and he is doing the vocals for the band. He plays the guitar, bass and flute and in one of the main figures for the success of the band among the metal fans. He often highlights that his biggest musical influence and a source of inspiration was Little Richard that gave him the first taste of music and made him strongly love the sound.
Hughes was born in South Carolina but at the age of 7 he moved to Palm Desert, California where later he became one of the foundators of the Eagles of Death Metal. At high school he meets another band member, Josh Homme, with the help of whom they will start their own music career. In 1998 they established the band as a garage based metal band and started gaining the love of the fans with their performances.
One more thing was crucial in his life. During the records of the second album of the band, Hughes admits he fell into a serious and devastating drug addiction that completely destroyed him -he was broke and unable to properly perform. This is when Homme interfered and practically saved his life -he took him to a rehab centre and personally paid for the long term care and healing process.
Along with his muscial performances, Hughes is famous for his political career as a speechwriter for the Republicans and a member of the party. He claims he would stay a devoted member to the party and even during the 2008 elections he called Barrack Obama a communist thus making it sure he has already picked up a political side with no views for a change. His political views have been widely known for their sharpness and direct expressions.
